Giving Thanks

I have so many things to be thankful for:
  • A wonderful loving family
  • A roof over my head
  • A job that I LOVE!
  • A bountiful meal
I could go on for days the list is endless. We should all take a moment today to not only be thankful but to also remember those serving in our military who can't be with those they love today. God Bless and Happy Thanksgiving!

Back in NC

Well we gave up on Florida and headed back to NC. It has been 1 year to the week since my Hubby has been laid off. Uggh is there ever going to be a light at the end of this endless tunnel, umm I'm starting to get a little claustrophobic! He applies and applies for everything out there and the main problem is that he's just a needle in the haystack. Ohhh economy please pick up so people start buying boats again and my hubby can go back to work!

We finally got chairs today for our dining room table! Yeah for Craig's List free section. Our dining room chairs didn't make the trip up and so we have been searching for chairs since we got up here. I tell you one thing people are PROUD of dining room chairs! I honestly think we could have purchased an entire dining room set cheaper than chairs alone. In celebration of our first family dinner at the dinner table in 3 months we are having a fiesta! Taco night in the W household! Ole'.....notice the place cards :)

It's finally stopped raining, thank goodness I was afraid at one point we were going to float away. Hoping tomorrow there might even be a little sunshine :)

Off to do dishes

Happy Valentine's Day

Don't know how he did it but he managed to get me these for Valentine's day! I love him! We have to go shopping this morning to get new outfits for our baptism this weekend. Well I am going to wear my nicest dress then dress the rest of the family around that as cheap as possible. I think just hubby and I will go and leave the kids at home. No big plans for V-Day other than that. Tomorrow I think we are going back out to the mud hole for a little cook out, muddin and fun. And Monday wow I have Monday off SWEET! Sometime this weekend I need to give the house a good scrubbin. With Hubby not working he does keep things cleaned up and has even started cooking dinner but things will really never be cleaned to my standards. Is that just me or is that a woman thing?

Same Story Different Day

I know I am about to say what I always say! I am working to much for my own good! I generally work about 12 hrs day then another few hours when I get home. I leave at 6am and get home at 7pm then work online when I get here. Hubby still not working, no prospects out there either so I am picking up all the hours I can. Times are getting so tough. I was laying there unable to sleep because of all the thoughts racing through my head and I saw headlights in my bedroom window so I got up to look out the window and there was a tow truck parked behind my jeep and a guy looking in my jeep! WTH(eck) They were gone by the time I made it out the front door, I know it couldn't be mine, my payment isn't even 30 days until Sunday and I already have a post dated check for that payment scheduled for tomorrow. Well I thought in today's times I better go get the important stuff out just incase. Tom Tom, power of attorney for my neice and lip gloss! Well as I am cleaning it out, in my pjs at 11pm I hear a truck start up, look down the street and what them back up and literally scoop up my neighbors car and take off. It saddened my heart! This is a working family both parents work! Times are getting so bad, but I have faith it has to get better.

I have exciting news this Sunday my husband, myself and all 3 of my children are getting baptised and following the ceremony we are becoming members of the church! YEAH! We are doing the sprinkle method of baptism and then in the spring we have agreed to wait until spring but teh Rev is going to dunk us and baptise us in the Rainbow River (see pic above) this is super exciting! Now I must go to bead I have to get up in 4 hrs ugghh but then it's a 3 day weekend.

Anyone have special plans for V-day?

Saturday

Hello everyone! I have been so busy I swear I don't even have time to stop and think sometimes. I have over an hour drive to work now (not complaining, just happy to have a job!) and leave when it's dark and get home after it's dark. I will be so happy when the time changes and it stays lighter longer! I know many of you have been suffering from the bitter cold I hope you are all staying warm. We haven't been hit as hard as you but it has been low last night it was in the low 20 degrees and I have had to bring all my plants in, all week I have had to scrape ice off my jeep. Work is going good, it's a job, hubby still has had no luck with work and it's starting to get to him. This is a man that has NEVER as long as I have been with him ever been out of work voluntarily. I just wish that if nothing else his unemployment pay would start coming through. I have picked up some side work I am able to do from home which has help. I got 8 new orders this weekend but unfortunately the county website I use to complete the work is not working for some reason. I hope to be able to use it before Tuesday so can get the copies I need and get it fed exed in hopes of maybe getting paid before rent is due! I paid what little bills I could today the water, trash, part of the electric and the remainder of the additional deposit required by Withalacoochie Electric Rip-Off I mean Co-Op this final $70 will result in a total deposit of $420 unreal in my opinion. I was pretty lucky Verizon made a mistake and over charged me by $300 this month which resulted in a credit to my account, well because they applied a credit the systems recognizes that as my monthly payment hence they aren't breathing down my neck for money I don't have! Let's see car payment was due on the 15th I should start recieving daily calls from them soon uuuggghhh! Thank goodness my Mom is paying my car insurance for the time being, so sad I am 32 years old and my mom is paying my car insurance I think I might ask her to pay to have my tag switch to Florida for my birthday present! Long gone are the days of asking for fancy earrings or yummy smelling stuff for your birthday haha! We got to watch the rocket launch tonight that was pretty cool, my step-mom actually works on that rocket so the kids loved seeing it knowing their grandma helped build it. I hope to maybe get back on line regularly soon but we are staying pretty busy between 2 jobs and now we have become really active in our new church. We have started a new sunday school class and I joined the women's group that meets every other Wed., this past wed was my first meeting and I had such a great time. On wed nights hubby takes the kids to church for the dinner and then I meet them there in time for classes. The kids go to youth group, young ones go to childrens church and hubby and I go to the parenting class held every other Wed and I go to that womens thing every other wed it feels good to be involved in something. Have a great night yall!

Update

Well I have been going for what seems like non stop since I started working. I have never had an hour commute before and it really does make a huge difference in the time you have to spend on everything else in your life. Tonight is the first night I have been able to sit down and write a little in a long time. It's nice and quiet tonight in this room anyway. Hubby is at the cable guy's house (his new friend and a great guy to know when you lose your remote haha!) and the kids are watching the BIG game. Today is The BCS championship game in Miami between The Florida Gators and The Oklahoma Sooners. Big deal stuff in Gator Country. Today at work we were aloud to dress casual and sport our gators gear, you couldn't go in a store without seeing guys head to town in Blue and Orange buying 12 packs of Bud and the kids said everyone at school was wearing school colors. Let's hope they win or it will not be a happy town tomorrow haha!

The other big news in my neck of the woods makes my heart ache! The Travolta family held the funeral for their son Jett today and I just found out it was right here. I had no idea they lived here? Everyone in town is being very protective and giving those slime ball media hounds a hard time and making it difficult for them to be the sleeze balls that they are. I really can't imagine what the family must be going through and am keeping them in my thoughts and prayers.

Hubby and I were in CVS on Christmas Eve and I tested my blood pressure well it was THROUGH THE ROOF and I mean HIGH I have never had high BP before it's always been low this scared me so bad that I have changed the way I eat, have become more active and am going to try and live healthier for my kids.

Well everyone is back and being loud and I am going to get to bed. Have a great Friday all!

Is there anyone out there?

I have been following the real age plan for over a week now and I was really hoping to have anyone join me on this?

Hello, Hello is there anyone out there? Just nod if you can hear me? Is there anyone home?

New year, New Beginnings

Good Morning everyone. I feel like I can finally breath and am glad the holidays are behind us. The holidays are always such a hectic time for me, not to mention I am not getting paid for all those days off which makes for a not so great paycheck! Work is going good, I am still in training upstairs but have go to work at my desk 1.5 days so far. I had the option to work new years eve so I did and because training was not scheduled I got to do a little actual work and I got my computer woo hoo! Hubby is still looking for a job. Bless his heart he is so unhappy he's not working or "providing". He is just in a bad industry right now. I know pretty much every industry is bad but there are those like boat building, construction and auto workers who are really bad right now. I saw a news report that said Florida just hit a 9% unemployment rate tying us with Michigan (Hi Cher!, we're neighbors now :) ) and 1 in 10 people in Fl are on Food Stamps! Those numbers are astonishing! Ok this post has been sitting unfinished since 1/1 it's time to just publish what I have an move on!
